Guidelines to the Ladies' Work

Assistance

  • There will be a lady in charge of the work of relief of the needy. If necessary, she may have one or two helpers.

  • All the relief work revealed for the Sabbath is concerned with the assistance of the brethren of the church. Existing in any situation of need of   brother, the Coordinator is informed. It will come to the attention of the church's relief officer. If the Coordinator has doubts about whether or not to give the help, she will talk to the Pastor and he will decide if it is time to help or not. Given the guidance, the Coordinator communicates what has been resolved by the Pastor to the sister responsible for the rescue.

  • There have been well-to-do churches, which have no need to help any of their members, and others, with many needs, who are unable to render aid. The churches with more resources will be able to help the most needy, if only there is an understanding between them, to define how to proceed in this work.

  • In the case of financial aid for the purchase of medicines, the amount will never be stipulated. Each sister will give what she can. The same goes for buying clothes for newborns.

  • This work is done in complete secrecy. Only those in charge and the Pastor, if necessary, will know the names of the people who will be helped.
